The Weekly Rune - Ingwaz

Sacred Order Within

Ingwaz (carved porcelain tile) is the half-month rune through 29 May. Dagaz (carved antler slice) is the intuitive rune, and Kenaz indicates Mountain’s perspective. The spirits of place anchoring the runes this week are Honey Bee with element Timing, in the direction of Left (West/Vestri, green dwarf), in the season of Spring (tree button). Read right to left is Ingwaz, Dagaz, then Kenaz.

The Runecast

Moving from Laguz into Ingwaz gives a sense of accomplishment. Often folx express jubilance at the end of the runic year, though I feel it more as we enter Ingwaz. We spend so much of the early third aett building in tension, and in this cycle more than most prior. Ingwaz brings not only relief for that energy finally being directed somewhere, but glimpses of what that energy will do in the world. It’s a coming out rune of triumphant proportion.

Learn more about this seasonal progression, and how to draw its insights into the personal spiritual path in Runic Book of Days.

For public readers, the full runecast will be publicly available in two weeks at Soul Intent Arts. To access the full runecast now and the audio blog recording, become a Patreon community member.

S. Kelley Harrell, M. Div.

I’m an animist, author, deathwalker and death doula. For the last 25 years, through Soul Intent Arts I’ve helped others to ethically build thriving spiritual paths as fit, embodied elders, who upon death become wise, capable Ancestors. My work is Nature-based, and focuses soul tending through the Elder Futhark runes, animism, ancestral healing, and deathwork. I’m author of Runic Book of Days, and I host the podcast, What in the Wyrd. I also write The Weekly Rune as a celebration of the Elder Futhark in season. Full bio.
