The Weekly Rune - Tiwaz-Berkana
Agency, Brevity, and Rehabilitation
This runecast has our shift from Tiwaz into Berkana, which carries bittersweetness. On the surface, it sounds great to move out of that battle stance and victory moment into a more quiet, rehabilitating space. And it can be the perfect balm. The thing about Tiwaz is it does have that battle zing, and for anyone who has endured personal trauma, sometimes the bump from the adrenaline of PTSD feels a lot better than the plummeting of emotions when we realize the depth of what’s on the table that needs our attention. The repetition of Othala from last week, regardless of orientation, drives home in this cast just how deeply that avoidance runs, and the ramifications of allowing it.
The full runecast will be publicly available in two weeks. To access the audio blog recording now and learn how Tiwaz and Berkana express relationship between grief and tending, become a Patreon community member.

I’m an animist, author, deathwalker and death doula. For the last 25 years, through Soul Intent Arts I’ve helped others to ethically build thriving spiritual paths as fit, embodied elders, who upon death become wise, capable Ancestors. My work is Nature-based, and focuses soul tending through the Elder Futhark runes, animism, ancestral healing, and deathwork. I’m author of Runic Book of Days, and I host the podcast, What in the Wyrd. I also write The Weekly Rune as a celebration of the Elder Futhark in season. Full bio.
